Richard E Schimel represents clients in civil litigation at both the trial and appellate level in state and federal courts. He helps his clients in a wide range of civil matters, including, but not limited to: dog and other animal-related injuries, condominium associations, homeowners’ associations, insurance coverage disputes, personal injury, premises liability, probate litigation, nuisance and construction disputes.
An author on condominium rights, pit bulls/breed specific legislation, animal injuries and a variety of insurance issues, Mr. Schimel incorporates his practical experience to help clients and educate the community. He has volunteered as a mock trial judge at the high school and college level and as a moot court (appellate) judge for various law school competitions. He has also served as a mentor to newly admitted members of the Maryland Bar Association.
In addition, Mr. Schimel has given frequent lectures at the Sunrise House Senior Living Facility on Connecticut Avenue, N.W. on topics of interest to its residents.
